Please join us for a member-guest program titled "Preventing Disease Through Health-Promoting Foods". Dr. Britt Burton Freeman, Director of the Center for Nutrition Research at the National Institute for Food Safety and Health and Associate Professor of Food Science and Nutrition at Illinois Institute of Technology, will speak on the health-promoting properties of whole foods and the effects and interaction of the components of these foods. She will explain how the synergy of dietary constituents can (potentially) be used mitigate the detriments of modern lifestyle and western eating habits.
The program will be held in the Executive Conference Room of the IIT Tower, located at the northwest corner of 35th Street and South State Street on the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology. Reserved parking is available at no cost in public lot D5, which is just across from the Tower, but must be arranged for prior to the date of the event. Coffee and tea will be available beginning at 10:30am; the program will begin at 11:00am and lunch will be served at noon. The cost is $25.
